Welcome to another Kokoon update!
In House Data Collection
As mentioned in the last update, we have now begun our data collection exercise to train our algorithm.
With the arrival of our Golden Sample in June, we have built up a series of prototypes to use in beta testing and data collection over the next few weeks.

The data recorded via the wet electrodes is combined with the data collected via the headphones and used to further train our algorithms, to increase robustness and accuracy. So far the data collection has been going well and we’re seeing some great results. As our earlier tests predicted, the removal of the head sensor in favour of ear to ear EEG configuration is considerably improving performance and giving us good consistent contact through the whole night.
The diagram above illustrates consistent good quality signal throughout a whole night’s sleep.
With the updated electronics in our golden sample devices we were able to further tune our EEG sensing performance and now, in testing, we’ve been seeing even better performance from the sensors.
External Testing
Earlier this month we sent out a short survey to our UK based backers, asking for volunteers to take our data collection and beta testing forward. Throughout August, we will be progressing our data collection by inviting our volunteers to undertake the same testing as we have been doing in house, using both the wet electrodes and headphones overnight.
We’d like to say a huge thank you, as once again, your support and enthusiasm has been amazing, with a large number of London based backers volunteering to take part. We will be in touch shortly to begin arranging dates for the sleep tests.
Schedule
We’re continuing to progress according to our schedule posted in the last update and still expect the first units to ship in September.
Thanks all,
The Kokoon Team
